I’m finally sharing this precious in-hospital fresh 48 session with baby Ezra from early last year. Baby Ezra was such a sweet little bundle of joy, and even though big brother wasn’t too sure about his new sibling just yet, it was still such a heartwarming session. This was actually my second time photographing this beautiful family, as I had the pleasure of capturing a fresh 48 session for big brother when he was born too. It was heartwarming to see how much he had grown and to now be able to document the arrival of his baby brother.
The session took place at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Melbourne, and let me tell you, the love and warmth in that room was just so palpable. As I snapped away, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to be a part of such a beautiful moment in this family’s journey. Baby Ezra was mainly peaceful and content, and his parents were absolutely beaming with joy.
One of the challenges I faced during the shoot was getting big brother to interact with his new sibling. He was a bit shy and unsure of this new addition, but with some patience and gentle encouragement, we were able to capture some precious moments of him looking at his baby brother with curiosity.
I truly believe that photography has a way of freezing time and capturing the purest of emotions, and this Fresh 48 session provides a glimpse into them gathering together for the first time as a family of 4 in that hospital room in St Vincent’s Private. It was an honor to witness and document the love and connection between this family, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Here’s to more moments like these – full of love, warmth, and pure, unfiltered joy.
