Melbourne children's photographer
This Diamond Creek family weren't so interested in the traditional newborn photos - baby looking all sweet curled up in a wrap - so much as photos of them loving on their baby boy. That's my kind of photo shoot! Families being themselves, relaxing in front of the camera, snuggling with their loved ones. They're the photos that mean so much to me personally, and they're the kind of photos that I want to give my clients.
I love that photo of Mum holding her baby boy with his wonderful podgy baby rolls and the sweetest little dimples on his bottom. Big sister was adorable too, adapting to life with a new little person in the family.
These two sweethearts are full of personality and as different as can be. While big sister was easy-going and happy to please, little sister kept me on my toes. I love the mix of photos that resulted, the pretty smiles and the energy and enthusiasm that bubbles over.
Just look at those glorious curls! There is no doubting who these two young cuties belong too. :)
It was a wet and miserable morning when we met up in the park, although the rain cooperated and cleared with perfect timing. A fitting Melbourne summer's day for this family who'd previously abandoned us to live in warmer climes up north! Matt and my husband have been friends since high school although it had been a few years since I'd last seen them; impressing on the dance floor at our wedding.
With hugs and cuddles and giggles and grins, it was lovely to capture a moment in time for this family of four.
I'm quickly learning the challenge entailed in taking a family photo when two young children are involved. With one child, patience, encouragement and some giggles will generally provide that moment of everyone smiling at the camera. Two young children though, looking and smiling at the same time....
We might get that 'everyone smile at the camera' shot or we might not, but we're certain to get something even better.
The imperfectly wonderful reality of life and love and family. Chaos and wriggles and giggles.
But always the love.
This photo is a favourite of their Mum's. She has a sent me a photo of it, printed out large on canvas and up on the wall. That gives me all the feelings! It's such a privilege to be invited into people's lives to capture precious moments for them, and to see them cherish and enjoy the photos is unbelievably wonderful.
She has a shoe collection worthy of admiration; he likes dinosaurs and Pokemon. I seriously impressed identifying Pikachu and was even able to coax some genuine giggles.
