Being engaged is a pretty good reason to have some photos taken together. Although, to be honest, I don’t think you need a reason.
For this couples session, we spent the evening on my private bush property in Hurstbridge. Zoe and Kealen brought their dog/fur baby along too, which meant plenty of cuddling, laughing and occasionally trying to convince a very distracted four-legged family member to follow directions.
Engagement photos that actually feel like you
Engagement photography doesn’t have to mean formal poses or spending the whole session staring lovingly into each other’s eyes.
My approach to LGBTQ couples photography in Melbourne is relaxed and natural. I want your photos to feel like the two of you, rather than a version of you created especially for the camera.
I’ll give you direction and guidance when you need it, encouragement and positive vibes always, but there’s plenty of room for the way you naturally interact with each other.

Yes, you can bring your dog
If your dog is a big part of your life together, they are very welcome at your couples session.
They don’t need to be perfectly trained, and they definitely don’t need to sit beautifully and stare at the camera for every photo. Let’s not have unrealistic expectations!
We can include them in some images, give them a break when they need one, and make sure there’s also time for photos of just the two of you.
After all, these photos are about this part of your life together, and sometimes that includes muddy paws, leads, treats and a little bit of chaos.
A relaxed couples session in Hurstbridge
My private Hurstbridge property gives us a natural bush setting with plenty of space to move around.
It works beautifully for couples who want something relaxed and unfussy, particularly if you’d rather walk and chat than stand in one spot wondering what to do with your hands.
And while this couple happened to be engaged, couples photography doesn’t need to be saved for one particular milestone.
